Corpses, Yours and Mine

In session seven, Pat invites us to imagine the ultimate trade-in deal.

Imagine living life in a whole new way. Our old self is a corpse: crucified, dead and buried. Our new self is alive and is activated, empowered and energized by none other than God the Holy Spirit. Time to trade in the old and receive the new!

Discussion Questions

Read Romans 7:15-21 and Romans 6:1-6,11

How would you describe Paul as you see/hear him in the verses in Romans 7? In what way do you relate to Paul? What is his problem??
On what basis does Pat refer to our old nature as a corpse? Pat gave a list of possible corpses. What would you add to that list? Did you find your own old nature in the list?
Can you imagine a scenario in which you trade in your corpse for the "new you?"
