Scripture Texts: John 9:1-41
Sermon: Healing of a Man Born Blind
First Sunday of Advent. In Isaiah 9 it was prophesied that those living in darkness would see a great light. In our John 9 text we see a fulfillment of that prophesy as Jesus heals a blind man, giving him both physical and spiritual sight.

Discussion Questions

One way to describe becoming a Christian is to say that you had your spiritual eyes opened and saw Jesus for who he really is. When did that happen for you? Did it happen in a moment? Was it a process? When did Jesus become more than just a word to you?
-
Once we come to faith in Jesus, have our spiritual eyes opened, we can still struggle to "spiritually see" clearly. Sometimes it's because we have blindfolds on. What are the blindfolds in your life that keep you from spiritually seeing clearly? Pride? Fear? Doubt? Lies of the Enemy? Something else?
-
How would you describe your spiritual sight these days? Clear? Blurry? Blind? Is spiritual sight something that can be improved? If so, how? If not, why not?
